Australian Politician Criticizes Dependence on Gaming Taxes14 January 2004AUSTRALIA – As reported by the (Australia) Age.com: "Opposition Leader Mark Latham has promised to tackle problem gambling and has criticised his state colleagues for being too reliant on gaming tax revenue. "Mr Latham yesterday said he despaired about problem gambling, suggesting a Labor government would introduce strict laws forcing gaming venues to close for part of the day.
