Australian Party Under Fire for Casino Tour

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australia Age: "The Labor Party is under attack for planning a "behind-the-scenes" tour of Crown Casino next month to raise money.

"Gambling reform advocates said yesterday that Progressive Business, the state ALP's fund-raising arm, should stop using Crown as a venue for fund-raisers because it raised potential conflict of interest issues for the Bracks Government.

"The Progressive Business website is promoting a 'back-of-house tour' of Crown as one of July's main fund-raising events.

"…Gambling reform advocate Tim Costello said Labor should not hold functions at the casino because it sent the wrong message to Victorians…"
