Australian Officials Deny Interfering with Licensing Process6 October 2006VICTORIA, Australia – As reported by the Age.com : Premier Steve Bracks and Gaming Minister John Pandazopoulos have denied interfering in the selection of new licence-holders for Victoria's billion-dollar poker machine and lotteries industries. "Opposition Leader Ted Baillieu yesterday asked Mr Bracks whether he had ever advised representatives of Tattersalls and TABCorp that their gaming machines duopoly would continue beyond the expiry of their present licences. "Mr Baillieu also asked whether Mr Bracks had told the gaming giants they would be 'given priority' when the Government considered who should get future licences. Mr Bracks replied: 'The answer is no.'…" |
