Australian Jockey, Bookie Interrogated

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald: "Melbourne jockey Darren Gauci and disqualified bookmaker Anthony Cullen were interviewed by Racing Victoria stewards yesterday.

"Stewards were concerned Gauci's name appeared on Cullen's phone records which were subpoenaed as part of the Leone Chiara affair, which ended last Friday with the bookmaker one of five licensed persons disqualified.

"Gauci told stewards yesterday Cullen, who is also a plumber, had carried out work on his home last year.

"…Cullen was disqualified for three years for lying to stewards in the Leone Chiara inquiry.)…"
