Australia: Scam websites target gamblers

21 October 2011

VICTORIA, Australia -- A scam sports betting scheme that lures gamblers is becoming a problem for Victoria residents, The Age reported.

500 complaints have been filed over people losing money, the report said.

The scheme falsely suggests its computer software can predict the results of horse races and offers membership and investment packages, but investors are not seeing the promised returns, The Age reported.

The business names understood to be allegedly operating this scheme are Pro-Trader Technologies, Advanced Trading Strategies and Queenbury Investments, The Age report noted.
