Australia: Crown profit up

AUSTRALIA -- Crown Casino reported a hearty 53 percent increase in net profit, according to the Herald Sun.

The Casino saw revenue increase 17 percent, but suggested it could have increased more if the economy was stronger, the report said.

The figures relate to 2011-2012, effects of increased competition from new casinos in Macau and Singapore were also made, the Herald Sun noted.
