Audit committee proposed for Mount Airy slots

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania – As reported by the Pocono Record: "In an eleventh hour effort to address "suitability" issues concerning owner Louis DeNaples, a Mount Airy Lodge official Tuesday proposed creating an independent audit committee to oversee slots operations if the newly reborn resort obtains a state casino license.

"The proposal by attorney John Donnelly was offered during a final public hearing before the state Gaming Control Board prior to today's scheduled meeting to consider awarding 14 slots licenses across Pennsylvania.

"DeNaples would continue to play a role in Mount Airy as a 'financier and entrepreneur', added Donnelly, but the audit committee would operate more independently than a typical board of directors…"
