Atlantic City Commission Approves Casino Credits for Play

ATLANTIC CITY – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "By next month, casinos could be luring gamblers with electronic credits that must be wagered instead of changed into cash.

"…The Casino Control Commission on Thursday temporarily adopted the rule, which would prevent gamblers from cashing out their freebie credits and either taking the cash home or to another casino.

"Casinos can now give gamblers cash incentives in the form of electronic credits, which the gamblers can either play or cash out.

"Under the new rule, casinos could not use the noncashable credits to pay winning wagers. In a slot machine where both cashable and noncashable credits are available, all noncashable credits would have to be played first…"
