Atlantic City casinos post meagre increase11 April 2007ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "The resort's 11 casinos posted a meager increase in gaming win last month, collecting just 1.3 percent more from gamblers than they did in March 2006 and reversing a two-month trend of revenue declines. "Gaming win, or revenue, is the total won by casinos from slot machine and table-games gamblers. It is not profit. "Casino Control Commission figures released Tuesday show the city's casinos winning $438.3 million during the month — $312.3 million at the slots and another $126 million at the tables. "The slight bump is still a victory considering the 2006 figure included win from the Sands Casino Hotel, which closed for good in early November after it was sold to a firm looking to demolish the casino and build a $1.5 billion resort…" |
