Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival nominated as top beer festival by USA Today

8 February 2016

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival is one of 20 nominees in USA Today's "10 Best Readers' Choice" competition, the publication has announced.

Voting is now open to select the ten best beer festivals. The public is invited to vote through Feb. 29, 2016 at 11:59 a.m. You can vote once per day.

Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival Producer Jon Henderson of Good Time Tricycle Productions said he is pleased to be nominated and would appreciate his fans' votes.

"We are coming up on our 11th year of producing The Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival and are not surprised to be acknowledged as one of the best beer festivals in the country!" Henderson said. "Our team at Good Time Tricycle Productions has worked hard to support the craft beer industry and the people who consume it and we are extremely proud of what we have accomplished. This festival gets bigger and better each year and will continue to be responsible for driving massive amounts of traffic and tourism dollars into Atlantic City."

The festival started in 2006 with a total attendance of 5,000. The most recent Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival in 2015 hosted 27,000 attendees and featured 152 breweries with more than 600 beers to sample. The event has grown to include nine music bands, seven local restaurants, 150 vendors, nine beer-related seminars and nine cooking demonstrations.

"This annual event is an example of how Atlantic City provides the perfect venue for fun events that can grow and prosper, and how these events in turn contribute to the local economy," said John Palmieri, executive director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA). "The Beer and Music Festival has provided approximately $7 million in economic impact for Atlantic City in the past ten years as it grew. CRDA is pleased to be a partner with them and we congratulate them on this national recognition."

The 2016 Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival is scheduled for April 8 and 9 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, and will debut some new elements including the First Annual Hops Trot on Saturday, April 9, a 5K run to some of Atlantic City's favorite watering holes ending at the Convention Center for Session 2 of the Beer Festival.
