Armed Gangs Raid UK Casinos12 October 2004MANCHESTER, UK – As reported by Manchester Online: "Armed gangs have targeted two Greater Manchester casinos in 48 hours. "In both raids customers were left terrified as masked men threatened them with weapons. "In the first incident three men tailgated a customer to breach security and get into the Stanley Albion Casino on Cromwell Road, Pendleton, Salford. "Brandishing Samurai swords and a machete they ordered about 120 customers to lie on the floor then ran straight to the manager's office and escaped with several thousand pounds. "…On Thursday, also at about 8.30pm, four men wearing balaclavas burst into the Grosvenor Casino on Empire Street, in Strangeways, Manchester, carrying tomahawk-type axes, and a pick axe handle. "They demanded cash and one of the men hit a cashier on the arm with an axe, but they fled empty handed…" |
