Armed gang steal hundreds of thousands in Swiss Casino raid

SWITZERLAND -- A second armed European casino raid has taken place overnight, The (UK) Times reported.

The raid, which took place at 4am local time, involved 10 armed raiders who broke through a door of the Basel Grand Casino, The Times reported.

A spokesman for the casino described it as an unsophisticated action film heist.

The French speaking raiders fired at the ceiling, yelled at staff and customers to get down, emptied cash registers, but failed to bust open the safe, The Times report said.
