Arkansas Casino Amendment Revisited24 December 2003ARKANSA – As reported by the Arkansas Democrat Gazette: "A man who's trying to get casino-type wagering legalized in drinking establishments in Arkansas says he's scratching his first proposed constitutional amendment and will start over with a retooled version. "Barry Emigh of Hot Springs said he hasn't stirred up enough support — including financial contributions — for his cause. "He says that's partly because the Legislature might approve some sort of gambling proposal during its current special session on education. "...Emigh wants the November 2004 election ballot to include a voter-initiated constitutional amendment to allow gambling, including card games and slot machines, in bars, hotels or other businesses that serve mixed drinks…" |
