Arizona Tribe Breaks Ground on Resort

FORT MCDOWELL, Arizona – As reported by the Arizona Republic: "The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation breaks ground on a multimillion-dollar resort today, marking another step in the tribe's goal of becoming a full-service tourist destination.

"The ceremony, featuring a traditional Native American blessing, starts at 10 a.m. at the Fort McDowell Casino, northwest of Fort McDowell Road and Arizona 87.

"…The 247-room hotel, which will feature a 23,000-square-foot convention center and ballroom, should be complete by October 2005…"
