Arizona releases Q2 2023 gaming figures13 December 2023(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Arizona Department of Gaming announced $42,603,879 in tribal gaming contributions to the Arizona Benefits Fund for the second quarter of Fiscal Year (FY) 2024. This amount represents an approximate 2% increase when compared to the same quarter of FY 2023. “We continue to see steady growth in the state’s tribal gaming industry, with consecutive record quarters of tribal contributions to the Arizona Benefits fund thus far in FY2024,” said Jackie Johnson, Cabinet Executive Officer, ADG. “These record levels of contributions further cement the strong partnership between the state and tribal partners, with over $2.1 billion in cumulative contributions to the state and its cities towns and counties since FY2004.” The Arizona Benefits Fund receives 88 percent of tribal gaming contributions, providing significant dollars to support instructional improvement in schools, trauma and emergency care, tourism, and wildlife conservation throughout the state. Tribal gaming contributions to the Arizona Benefits Fund for the 2 nd quarter of the State’s FY 2024 are as follows: Instructional Improvement Fund/Education--$21,233,773 Trauma and Emergency Services Fund--$10,616,887 Arizona Department of Gaming Operating Costs--$3,834,349 Arizona Wildlife Conservation Fund--$3,033,396 Tourism Fund-- $3,033,396 Problem Gambling Education, Treatment and Prevention--$852,078 FY 2024 Qtr 2 Total: Tribal Gaming Contributions to the Arizona Benefits Fund--$42,603,879 Under the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Tribes with casinos also contribute a percentage of their Class III gross gaming revenue to cities, towns, and counties. Currently, there are 25 Class III casinos in Arizona, which ADG regulates in partnership with Arizona tribes.
