Arizona Indian gaming revenues bouncing back27 December 2012The Republic reports that Indian gaming revenues in Arizona have risen for the past two years, which means increased contributions to education and local governments as well as to trauma and emergency services. The Republic report states that in the most recent quarter, which ended Sept. 30, Indian gaming led to nearly $24 million in such contributions, a 3.2 percent increase over the same quarter in 2011, according to the Arizona Department of Gaming. It was the ninth quarter in a row in which contributions had increased. For the past fiscal year, which ended in June, such contributions were nearly $85 million. State records show that this year’s contributions already have totaled nearly $50 million, according to the Republic report. |
