Arizona Gambling Payments Dip2 February 2004ARIZONA – As reported by the Tuscon Citizen: "Arizona's gaming tribes paid the state $6.7 million in January in the third round of quarterly payments since revenue sharing started in April. "The state's 15 tribes with 22 casinos have shared about $22.7 million with the Arizona Department of Gaming in the first nine months of revenue sharing. "The third payments covered the period from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31 and were substantially lower than the $11.9 million collected by the state in the second round. "The revenue sharing is based on a percentage of gross gaming revenue. "…In return for sharing revenue, tribes were allowed to add slot machines and offer house-banked blackjack…" |
