Arizona Company Sues Vegas Restaurant

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Nov. 1, 2000 – As reported by the Associated Press: `` An Arizona company that built the Anasazi at Santa Fe restaurant inside the Aladdin's Desert Passage shopping mall is suing the restaurant's owner in federal court for $1.8 million.

``Builder Price Woods contends that the owners of the Anasazi broke a contract authorizing the Mesa, Ariz.-company to build the Southwest-themed eatery.

``The plaintiff argues that it is owed money by Anasazi LLC for materials and work provided at the site.

``The lawsuit claims that Anasazi has ignored repeated demands for payment and says the builder is entitled to foreclose on a Sept. 25 lien placed on the restaurant.

``The restaurant is one of two in the Desert Passage mall to reportedly receive eviction notices earlier this month for being behind on rent payments, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

``Court papers filed by both restaurants claim that each overspent to meet the Aladdin's opening date and have yet to be reimbursed for those costs…”
