Arizona: Bill approved to stop tribal casino

26 January 2011

GLENDALE, Arizona -- Arizona has passed a bill to prevent a tribal casino, according to the Arizona Republic.

The Tohono O'odham Nation were approved last year to put 54 acres of their land in "the reservation system" which could be a step towards realizing a planned casino, the report explained.

The House of Representatives bill permits Glendale to "annex the land" but the bill has to go before the Senate next, the Arizona Republic reported.
