Aristocrat Boosted by Macau Orders

MACAU – As reported by China Standard: "Three orders from the Sands Macau casino helped propel Australian slot-machine maker Aristocrat Leisure to record profits and sales last year, the company announced this week.

"Aristocrat is now setting up an office in Macau in the hopes of leveraging its success with the Sands into orders from casinos in the SAR and others in the region.

"Gambling machines played little role in Macau until last year. But well aware that slot machines are the leading source of revenue in United States casinos, Sands Macau owner Las Vegas Sands bet it could kindle interest by importing sophisticated new machines.

"…Additions, including the new non-smoking Pearl Room hall that opened this month, have brought the total number of machines up to 851.

"…Aristocrat's sales to Sands included two systems to link the casino slot machines together to offer mega jackpot prizes, and 15 electronic signs to display jackpot levels and other information…"
