Argosy Donates Minibuses to City

ALTON, Missouri – As reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "Alton officials say they will gladly gamble on getting some more use from three minibuses that have shuttled Alton Belle Casino patrons for 10 years.

"The vehicles have been donated to the city by Argosy Gaming Co., which operates the casino on the Alton riverfront. Each bus carries about 23 passengers.

"…Although the buses have high mileage - 275,000 to 335,000 miles - most of the miles have been racked up shuttling casino patrons between the boat and nearby parking lots, [Argosy spokesman Jim Wise] said. He said they have been carefully maintained and are in good condition.

"…Mayor Don Sandidge said the buses are particularly welcome at a time the city is struggling with tight budgets…"
