Are slots buried in South Bend cemetery?14 August 2012The Associated Press reports that the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County is trying to determine whether the rumors that slot machines are buried under the City Cemetery are true. The AP report states that professor Mark Schurr used ground penetrating radar to look for slots that workers may have dumped beneath the cemetery in the 1950s as part of an effort to fill in an old waterway. He hasn't found any slots yet, the AP reports, but he plans to keep on looking. |
