Anti-pokies campaigners call on PM

5 August 2011

MELBOURNE, Australia -- Anti Pokie campaigners are drawing attention to the fact a pub in Prime Minister Julia Gillard's riding had the second highest machine losses last year, according to a Brisbane Times report.

The campaigners say this very fact is the reason that the Prime Minister must deliver on her promised pokie reform program the report explained.

The highest loss by players -- $21 million -- was to the Epping Plaza Hotel, the Brisbane Times reported.

The Prime Minister reiterated her government's position on introducing gambling venue changes, the report noted.
