Annual AGEM/AGA Golf Classic announced

3 April 2009

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The gaming industry's top executives will tee off to support research and responsible gaming later this month at the 11th annual AGEM/AGA Golf Classic presented by JCM Global. Sponsored by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) and the American Gaming Association (AGA), the AGEM/AGA Golf Classic is an annual fundraiser for the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG), a national nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research on gambling disorders and increasing awareness about responsible gaming.

The tournament takes place April 27 on the rolling fairways and impeccable greens of the award-winning Cascata in Boulder City, Nev. Since its inception, the event has raised nearly $700,000 for the NCRG, including a record $100,000 last year.

"The industry's continued support of the NCRG has enabled us to fund groundbreaking research into gambling disorders, create innovative science-based education and training resources, and increase awareness about responsible gaming among key audiences," said Glenn Christenson, chairman of the NCRG. "Events like the AGEM/AGA Golf Classic presented by JCM Global play an important role in the industry's ongoing support of the NCRG, and we look forward to another terrific event this year."

Each year, the event draws a veritable who's who of the gaming industry, including top executives from a broad spectrum of the industry's leading companies, including operators, manufacturers and test labs. Adding to the excitement of the tournament, this year's hole-in-one challenge prize is a golfer's fantasy package: six 1-hour, one-on-one lessons with golf legend Butch Harmon, a new set of Titleist clubs and bag, plus custom fitting.

Player reservations are filling up quickly, and sponsorship options are still available. Sponsorship packages start at $1,500. Additionally, raffle prize donations are being accepted. For registration or sponsorship information, contact JCM's Teri Abou at (702) 651-0000 or tabou@jcmglobal.com.

"The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) is proud to officially join the team and share title sponsorship of this great event with our friends at the AGA," said AGEM Executive Director Marcus Prater. "What JCM Global started more than 10 years ago is now the most important event of its kind in the gaming industry and one that helps keep the subject of responsible gaming at the forefront of our industry's collective attention."

"Responsible gaming is a business imperative for everyone in our industry, and one way that our companies show that is through support for the NCRG and events like this one," said AGA President and CEO Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr. "The AGA is honored to work with organizations like AGEM and JCM Global to support responsible gaming research and education and hope that this partnership will continue well into the future."
