Animazing Gallery at Grand Canal Shoppes hosts original Catwoman

1 December 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Animazing Gallery at Grand Canal Shoppes inside The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino to welcome original Catwoman, Julie Newmar, on 9 December for an exclusive meet and greet. To kick-off the opening of the newest flagship exhibit, the much-anticipated event will feature an exclusive autograph signing, giving guests first dibs on a limited edition canvas by famed comic artist Alex Ross. With only 66 prints available, commemorating the year of the 1966 Batmobile, the special edition piece debuts Alex Ross's first and only rendering of Newmar.

Paying homage to one of her most famed roles, Newmar will be taking guests back in time with a grand entrance in the classic 1966 Batmobile. Media will have the opportunity to take photos of the iconic actress and stylish ride before the event begins.

In 1966, Julie Newmar was urged by her brother at Harvard to pursue the role of Catwoman in "Batman," and her sense of humor and physicality made her the show's most popular villain. The legendary actress is also known for her role in an episode of the "Twilight Zone," in addition to the lead character in "My Living Doll."

Founded in New York City, Animazing Gallery began its emphasis on abstract cartoon art in the mid 1980s. Now boasting over 3,000 square feet, the two-level gallery at Grand Canal Shoppes specializes in Contemporary Art, Pop Art, Surrealism one-of-a-kind Illustration art created by a range of renown illustrators such as Charles M. Schulz, Maurice Sendak and Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss. Artists represented include Peter Max, Tom Everhart, Tim Cantor, Daniel Merriam, Fabio Napoleoni, Salvador Dali, Romero Britto and Alex Ross.
