Ameristar Casino Vicksburg expansion opens to public23 May 2008VICKSBURG, Mississippi -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Convenient covered parking ushering guests directly to the casino floor, more than 500 gaming positions and the market's largest live poker room will open to guests at Ameristar Casino Vicksburg on Friday, May 23 at 6 p.m. The much-anticipated opening of the $100 million construction project will arrive just in time for the Memorial Day Weekend. "We are very excited that Ameristar Vicksburg's major expansion project is opening," said John Boushy, Ameristar Chief Executive Officer and President. "Our property now offers even more expanded entertainment experiences for our guests and enhances our already commanding position in Vicksburg." With the new garage and the comfortable, contemporary casino expansion now complete, additional amenities will open in July, including a new, upscale Star Club lounge and two themed restaurants, Pearl's Oyster Bar, featuring fresh seafood and Cajun cuisine, and DeliLUX, serving quick, cook-to-order sandwiches and dinners. Later in 2008, the construction project will culminate with the addition of retail space and a new Starbucks coffeehouse. This expansion is the latest in a series of renovations and enhancements that have taken place over the past 14 years since Ameristar Casino Vicksburg opened. Since its inception, Ameristar Vicksburg has been a market leader, capturing the number one market share position in 2001 -- a position it continues to hold today. "We are proud of the substantial investment we've made in our community," said Adrian Caldwell, Ameristar Vicksburg General Manager. "And we know that each dollar we spend enriches the experience for our guests by providing more reasons for them to visit with us here in Vicksburg. Ameristar offers unparalleled gaming opportunities, the best amenities and service in the market and prides itself on being a good neighbor within the community." To celebrate the opening of the garage and casino expansion, a Corvette Showcase and Crawfish Boil is scheduled for Saturday, June 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In partnership with the Mississippi Corvette Club, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Corvette Club and the North Mississippi Corvette Club, Ameristar will showcase a variety of new and classic Corvettes; this event is free to the public. The Crawfish Boil will feature live entertainment with the Patrick Smith Band and the cost is $15 per person (must be 21 years or older to attend). |
