Ameristar buys land in Springfield, Mass.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Ameristar Casinos has completed the purchase of a parcel land in Springfield, Massachusetts, the Boston Business Journal reported.

The company plans to apply for a casino licence with a view to developing a casino and hotel on the land, according to the report.

The 41 acres of land cost Ameristar $16 million, the Boston Business Journal reported.
