Amador deal still on table

JACKSON, California -- As reported by the Record Net: "A deal that would give Amador County $18 million upfront and roughly $8 million a year in return for dropping a federal lawsuit against a tribal casino planned near Ione still is on the table.

"Ryan Rauzon, a spokesman for the Buena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians, said the tribe will wait until Tuesday to see whether the Amador County Board of Supervisors approves the proposed intergovernmental services agreement with the tribe.

"The agreement would clear the way for a 950-slot machine casino on Coal Mine Road. It would be Amador County's second casino, and something that many residents and virtually all public officials here oppose..."
