Allegan County Commissioners Remain Quiet on Casino Debate

MICHIGAN – As reported by the Allegan County News: "Allegan County Commissioners did not act on a resolution opposing a proposed tribal casino in Wayland Township presented to them by an anti-gambling group.

"Commissioners held their regular meeting, Thursday, Oct. 27, at night instead of in the afternoon and were joined by a packed chamber of partisans on both sides of the casino issue, though pro-casino residents predominated among the speakers.

"…The Gun Lake Tribe is planning a casino near Bradley and is waiting on a lawsuit in federal court challenging the government's decision to put the tribe's planned casino property into trust…"
