All hail the new Caesar

16 November 2006

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Caesars Palace, one of the world's best known resort-casinos, and GQ, the premier men's lifestyle magazine, along with "Extra", the syndicated entertainment newsmagazine, announced today that Pennsylvania-native and current Harvard School of Dental Medicine student Danny Cassarella, 25, has been hailed Caesar in the "Modern Day Caesar" contest. Danny -- the ultimate leading man who knows how to look sharp, live smart and whose charismatic presence commands a room -- is set to receive a prize package that includes a fantasy getaway for four to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and a photo spread in the December 2006 issue of GQ magazine. The public can meet Danny and view behind-the-scenes footage of his GQ photo shoot on the November 15, 2006, airing of "Extra" (check local listings).

In addition to appearing within the pages of GQ and being featured on "Extra", Danny will receive:

* three-day, two-nights in luxurious hotel accommodations for four at Caesars Palace

* roundtrip airfare for four from a U.S. airport

* VIP access to PURE nightclub

* dinner for four at RESTAURANT GUY SAVOY Caesars Palace

* four spa treatments at The Spa at Caesars Palace

* four concert tickets

* $500 worth of promotional chips

* $2,500 gift certificate to The Forum Shops at Caesars

"Danny embodies the look, spirit and character of a 'Modern Day Caesar.' We are honored to hail him Caesar as we celebrate our 40th anniversary," said Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner. "We look forward to rolling out the red carpet for Danny and his guests to provide them with a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Caesars Palace."

Currently residing in Boston's Back Bay, Danny serves as president of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2008. When not in the classroom, Danny coaches Little League Baseball in disadvantaged areas of Boston. This past spring, he completed the 2006 Boston Marathon as a member of the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge Team. In 2004, Danny graduated from the Pennsylvania State University Schreyer Honors College. While attending Penn State, he studied abroad in Costa Rica and Florence and participated in Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge in Jacksonville, Fla. He grew up in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

"I was floored when I found out that I was to be named the 'Modern Day Caesar,'" recalls Danny. "This is a great opportunity for me to showoff my hometown, hard working roots and to shine a spotlight on causes that are dear to my heart, such as the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. I have no doubt that during my prize winning trip to Las Vegas, my friends and I will reign at Caesars Palace with GQ's core ideals -- attitude, style, intellect, and class."

Danny entered the "Modern Day Caesar" contest through a call-to-action advertisement that appeared in the May 2006 issue of GQ. After submitting a photo and taking an online quiz consisting of five questions, a panel of judges -- comprised of representatives from GQ and Caesars Palace -- chose five finalists. In August, the public was called upon to cast their vote and choose one winner.
