Aliante Casino and Hotel closes poker room, five employees laid off

4 November 2012

LAS VEGAS -- Aliante Casino and Hotel has closed its poker room, laying off five employees, as the resort is replacing it with a "new concept," a company spokeswoman confirmed Friday. The resort has not announced what will replace the poker room.

"Aliante is actively working to find a role for (the five employees) within the new organization," the company said in a statement. "In addition, since the Aliante Gaming LLC team has take over, they have created more than 50 positions in various departments and will continue to add more as the property continues to evolve and grow."

Aliante Gaming took over the property last year as part of the Station Casinos Inc. bankruptcy. The 200-room hotel in North Las Vegas has 2,000 slot machines and 40 table games.
