ALC audit shows security risks

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND -- As reported by the Guardian: "A forensic audit of Atlantic Lottery Corporation's workings has uncovered a host of high-risk security issues with the racino at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre.

"But a lottery spokesman said Tuesday concerns have been addressed.

"'We welcome the report (and) we've already implemented close to 90 per cent of the recommendations the report gave us,' said ALC spokesman Robert Bourgeois. KPMG was asked by the four Atlantic provinces that own Atlantic Lottery Corporation to review their operations.

"...KPMG found nine high-risk concerns, 18 that were deemed a medium risk and 25 that were a low risk. Most high-risk issues involved Charlottetown's racino, where technicians enjoyed wide access to the facility's computer systems..."
