Alberta Tribe Makes Offer for Casino Services

28 June 2004

EDMONTON, Alberta – As reported by the CBC: "The Enoch First Nation is offering to pay the city $1.4 million for water, sewer and firefighting services for its proposed casino.

"Enoch officials made their final pitch to council Monday, hoping to strike a deal for the $140-million casino complex it has approval to build on the city's western edge.

"The deal would also see the band make road improvements and buy a fire truck to be stationed in the west end.

"…The development includes a casino, nine-storey hotel, two skating rinks, two indoor soccer fields and retail stores on land just outside the city's boundary, and could employ up to 700 people."
