Alberta casinos temporarily shut down until further notice

17 March 2020

The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission announced that all casinos in Alberta will be temporarily closed until further notice due to the public health emergency that was declared by the government. Below is the announcement form the commission's website.

"Earlier today, the Government of Alberta declared a public health emergency.

Effective immediately, all casinos, racing entertainment centres and bingo halls will close until further notice.

Other food service facilities, including those with a minors-allowed liquor licence, are limited to 50 per cent capacity to a maximum of 50 people, whichever is lower. Take-out and delivery service is also permitted. Class A licensed facilities will also be permitted to deliver liquor. Until further notice, all Albertans are restricted from attending bars and nightclubs, where minors are prohibited by law."
