The two-hour telecast will air live on CMT, Monday, January 29, 2007 at 8 p.m., ET/PT. "The Miss America Organization could not be happier to return to the host hotel, the Aladdin Resort & Casino, which exceeded our expectations in January with the debut of our Las Vegas show," said McMaster. "We are thrilled that the city of Las Vegas has embraced our Organization again and our legendary Pageant. This venue will be the perfect compliment to our 2007 show which will introduce a growing audience to the tradition, rich in history, of Miss America." "Last year's Pageant was a huge success for CMT and we're pleased to be in business again with Mike Mecca's team at the Aladdin," said Brock, executive producer for CMT. "Their first class facilities will once again provide the framework for what promises to be another landmark achievement for the network and Miss America." "We are delighted that CMT and the Miss America Pageant are returning to the Aladdin as we transition into the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino," said Mecca. "Las Vegas embraced this event last year and it is only fitting that it is returning to our city and to this property. We are home to the most beautiful theatre in Las Vegas, which will be newly renovated when the pageant comes back in January, and our transformation into Planet Hollywood will be very close to complete for the weekend of events." Miss America's activities at the Aladdin begin with the Pageant Preliminaries, which include swimsuit, talent and evening wear competitions, on Thursday, January 25 and continue through Saturday, January 27 at the newly-remodeled Theatre for the Performing Arts. |
