Alabama Trial: Witness outlines $200,000 in checks received from Gilley

29 June 2011

ALABAMA -- In the ongoing electronic bingo corruption trial evidence was heard today from Bryant Raby who "operated four policital action committees", the Montgomery Advertiser reported.

Raby testified that Ronnie Gilling, County Crossing developer, gave him four checks totalling $200,000, the report explained.

Raby then redistributed those checks to political action committees, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.

It was also alleged that Gilley wanted that money to be passed through these committees along to Sen. Harri Anne Smith, who had requested $400,000 from Gilley, it's alleged, the Montgomery Advertiser report noted.
