Alabama trial: Tapes reveal backbiting25 July 2011MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- In ongoing testimony at the electronic bingo corruption trail the court heard tapes that recorded the, at times, crude, racist and sexist tones of Republican legislators and gambling lobbyists, the Birmingham News reported. Some of the language used in the tapes was described as "unprintable" in the Birmingham News report. As the date of the electronic bingo bill vote neared tension was apparent in the secret recordings and the tone deteriorated further, the report said. This is the eighth week of the trial and the prosecution should finish its case this week, the Birmingham News reported. |
