Alabama: Lobbyist testimony continues

22 July 2011

ALABAMA -- In the ongoing electronic bingo federal corruption case, testimony continued today from casino lobbyist Jennifer Pouncy, the Birmingham News reported.

Ms Pouncy said in court she did not have "explicit agreements" with three senators that they'd vote to approve a gambling bill in exchange for cash, the report explained.

The lobbyist also testified that individual senators said they needed money for their campaigns and some called her repeatedly asking for campaign contributions, according to the Birmingham News.

Pouncy has already pleaded guilty in the case, and the current trial concerns seven other individuals including former senators, the report noted.
