Alabama corruption trial: Defence paint Gilley as con artist8 July 2011ALABAMA -- The ongoing electronic bingo corruption trial saw the defence attempt to portray Ronnie Gilley, the Country Crossing developer who has already pleaded guilty in the case, as a "liar and a fast-talking con artist", according to the Birmingham News. The court heard a number of recorded conversations in which Gilley allegedly made false promises and exaggerated his postion to several people, the report explained. Gilley is back on the stand after illness last week interrupted his testimony and kept him from court, the Birmingham News said. |
