ACEP casino renovations near end

21 November 2006

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – (PRESS RELEASE) -- American Casino & Entertainment Properties (ACEP) is nearing completion of a six month, $40 million transformation of the Flamingo Laughlin. The property has undergone extensive changes including renovations of the overall property theme and brand as well as specific expansions. The property will officially re-launch as the Aquarius Casino Resort on Friday, November 24.

"Months of hard work and dedication have paid off as the property re-launch approaches. We are extremely excited to complete the transition phase and move forward with providing the best quality product for gaming, dining, lodging and entertainment backed by outstanding customer service," said Richard P. Brown, president and CEO of American Casino & Entertainment Properties.

The Aquarius Casino Resort is the largest gaming resort in Laughlin, Nevada with 1,907 rooms in two 18-story towers and a 57,000 square-foot casino. Situated on approximately 18 acres, amenities include seven restaurants, 35,000 square-feet of meeting space and a 3,300-seat amphitheater.

"After a significant investment of capital and extensive renovations, the Age of Aquarius is set to begin. The Aquarius Casino Resort is Laughlin's newest playground," said John Lind, senior vice president and general manager for the new Aquarius Casino Resort. "The Aquarius brand represents fun, luck and winning on the river. We want every guest to experience the excitement of the re-launch as they enjoy themselves at the place where good times flow," he added.

The Flamingo Laughlin's trademark flamingos and pink hues have been phased out and the primary color of the Aquarius is aqua blue to reflect the new water theme.

The property entrance has been dramatically changed starting with the addition of a state-of-the-art marquee. The full-color digital plasma display was designed in the shape of a blue wave towering more than 80 feet above the Casino Drive entrance. Lighting effects create the illusion of the wave being in motion.

The hotel exterior now has a blue color scheme and vibrant blue lights bathe the hotel exterior to enhance the multi-colored Aquarius signage which tops off the hotel towers. The trademark Flamingo plumage above the porte cochere and casino entrance has been updated and re-done in aqua blue and green.

Once inside, guests are greeted with a sweeping new entrance that opens up into the casino. The signature pieces are two large water features in the form of sculpture green columns flowing from ceiling to floor.

An all new VIP Check-In area was created in the front lobby in order to provide fast, convenient service incomparable in the Laughlin market. Qualified players will have exclusive access to the all new VIP Lounge. The relaxing and well-appointed Lounge will cater to VIPs with private bar service, plasma screens and unsurpassed views of the Colorado River. Just off the VIP Lounge is The Cove, a happening bar with the same sweeping views as the VIP Lounge.

The central component of the Aquarius is the new casino layout. New carpet, lighting and wall coverings compliment the 1,000 new state-of-the-art slot machines. Many machines are exclusive including the Wheel of Fortune Super Spin machine. The casino now features easy access and outstanding amenities for avid players including the most comfortable chairs in the marketplace. The new A.C.E. Rewards Players Club features an easy to understand point system allowing players to readily earn cash back and comps.

In the center of the action on the casino floor is the new Zodiac Bar. The place to see and be seen features liberal, progressive video poker machines, a unique drink menu and plasma screens showing sporting events.

The Club Flamingo Showroom is becoming the Splash Cabaret, an indoor and outdoor lounge with free nightly entertainment. The outdoor lounge will be called H2OH! @ The Aquarius. Access to the lounge will be from the Riverwalk and the casino. The Aquarius is booking top name entertainment in the 3,300-seat Aquarius Outdoor Amphitheater and the 2,200-seat indoor Aquarius Pavilion.

The Aquarius is revamping the restaurant venues in order to offer some of the best dining in Laughlin. Some will be ready for the launch, and others will be launched shortly thereafter. For fine dining there are Aqua Bella and the Taurus Steakhouse. Aqua Bella is one of the most romantic restaurants in Laughlin with incredible views of the Colorado River. The mouthwatering Mediterranean fare relies heavily on Italian influences. The Taurus Steakhouse features fine cuts of beef and seafood served in a rustic, yet elegant setting. For the casual-minded diner, there are Cafe Aquarius and the Windows on the River Buffet. Cafe Aquarius is open 24/7 for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. The Windows on the River Buffet is the buffet for people who like buffets with endless selections and action cooking stations.

The Aquarius is finalizing a room upgrade plan that will start with the renovation of the property's 90 suites.
