Absent Michigan Senators Ordered Back

LANSING, Michigan – As reported by the Associated Press: "The Michigan Senate sent out state troopers to collect two absent senators after a bill to raise taxes on Detroit's three casinos failed a second time Tuesday.

"Senate Majority Ken Sikkema, R-Wyoming, ordered a call of the Senate shortly after the vote failed.

"…Sikkema spokesman Bill Nowling said the Michigan State Police were asked to get Democratic Sens. Virg Bernero of Lansing and Martha Scott of Highland Park after they missed Tuesday's vote…"
