A New Millionaire at Las Vegas Hilton31 March 1999Business trips to Las Vegas are typically mixed with a fair share of pleasure. Sandy Rudd, a computer software engineer from Chattanooga, Tennessee, got more than her fair share last week when she hit a $1,075,776 progressive jackpot at the Las Vegas Hilton-playing nickel slots, no less. Rudd came to Las Vegas with her husband for the ConExpo convention and like everyone else that comes to town for conventions, managed to log some time on the casino floor. She was killing sometime Friday morning in front of the Xtreme JackpotsTM slots and $26 dollars later found her self in the midst of a dream-come-true. "My husband had just come up to me to let me know he was leaving to go to the art exhibit," explained the exhilarated mother of three. "He said, 'Sandy, stay because you're winning!'. So my mom and I played more aggressively once the husbands were gone. It's a good thing!" Rudd said that she immediately knew she had hit the top jackpot. "Mom and I had been watching other players, studying the glass, and paid close attention to what it took to win," she said. "When it hit I knew right then that I had won the big jackpot." Developed and monitored by Casino Data Systems(R), Xtreme Jackpots is the first multi-site progressive link to feature the increasingly popular multi-line, multi-coin video slot games. It's also the first multi-site progressive link to connect multiple denominations of games to the same jackpot. Casinos can now offer the same lifestyle-changing jackpot to both nickel and quarter players for a maximum bet of only $1.25. When asked how she will spend her winnings, Rudd replied, "I can be more of a mom now. With this money, I'll be able to work less and spend more time with my three kids and my husband." |
