888 Holdings' boss will stand down

11 April 2011

LONDON, England -- 888 Holdings ongoing takeover talks added a twist today with the news chief executive Gigi Levy will be resigning his position, according to a Financial Times report.

The official explanation was given as Levy's desire to "pursue other interests" but some analysts made their own speculations on the reasons for his departure, given the timing of it, the report explained.

888 has been involved in ongoing discussions with Ladbrokes, but there's no clear indication of whether a deal may be achieved, the Financial Times report made note.
