3 Senators are subpoenaed on Aqueduct Casino deal

24 March 2010

ALBANY, New York -- Subpoenas have been issued for three senior State Senate Democrats over a casino contract at Aqueduct racetrack, The New York Times reported.

John L. Sampson, Malcolm A Smith and Pedro Espada Jr were all issued subpoenas last week, according to The New York Times.

The Senate is "seeking to quash" the subpoenas, The New York Times said.

The investigation relates to the awarding of the Aqueduct casino contract to a politically connected bidder, The New York Times report said.
