26th Annual Cruisin’ The Coast hits the streets in October

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The 26th Annual Cruisin’ The Coast will take place from Sunday, 2 October through 9 October. The Coastal Mississippi weeklong party, dubbed “America’s Largest Block Party” is expected to draw more than 9,500 vehicles from around the globe, and all roads lead to Beau Rivage Resort & Casino for a fabulous week of classic fun.

Cruisers can showcase their rides along Coastal Mississippi’s 30-mile stretch of beach-side highway connecting a number of venues that feature stages for live music, car shows, swap meets and vendors. What began in 1996 with 374 registered cars to last year’s record-breaking 9,469 cars from 45 states and Canada, Cruisin’ the Coast has grown to become Mississippi’s largest special event and was voted Best Car Show Competition in the U.S. in 2021 by readers of USA TODAY.

Wednesday, 5 October – Cruisin’ the Coast Official Sock Hop with The New Orleans Mystics
Bring your poodle skirts, bobby socks, jeans and white t-shirts for a night of jumpin’ and jivin’ at the official Sock Hop of Cruisin’ the Coast. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the New Orleans Mystics take the stage at 8 p.m. in the Beau Rivage Theatre.

After decades of harnessing their passion for perfection as an acapella group, the New Orleans Mystics continue to deliver an impeccable performance for each show. One of the best Motown Rhythm and Blues shows on stage today, this high-energy act delivers impeccable harmonies and always gets the crowd on their feet. Opening for the Mystics is Sharon Martin, a popular New Orleans blues and jazz singer with a full range of styles.

The Sock Hop kicks off with Terry Mason’s Hot Rod Show, a classic radio show-style with trivia and a dance contest curated exclusively for Crusin’ the Coast from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Guests can also participate in a Meet & Greet Autograph Session with Joe and Amanda Martin of Martin Bros. Customs and “Iron Resurrection” on Velocity Network; and Courtney Hansen, Executive Producer and TV Personality of MotorTrend’s “Ride of Your Life” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets for the Sock Hop are $10 plus tax and service charge. Johnny Dawg of NaNaSha and the Triggerproof All Stars keep the party going from 8 p.m.- 1 a.m. for a post-Sock Hop party at EIGHT75. Admission is free.

Thursday, 6 October & Friday, 7 October – The Beach Boys in the Beau Rivage Theatre
As The Beach Boys mark more than a half century of making music, the group continues to ride the crest of a wave unequalled in America’s musical history. The Beach Boys – who have become synonymous with the California lifestyle and an American icon to fans around the world – will bring their “Sixty Years of the Sounds of Summer” tour to the Beau Rivage Theatre.

The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have received more than 33 RIAA Platinum and Gold record awards. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers where also honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award. With more than five decades of touring under their belts, The Beach Boys have performed more concerts than any major rock band in history.
The Beach Boys are led by Mike Love, who, along with longtime member Bruce Johnston, musical director Scott Totten, Brian Eichenberger, Christian Love, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill, Keith Hubacher and Randy Leago continue the legacy of the iconic band. This concert will not feature Brian Wilson, Al Jardine or David Marks.

Saturday, 8 October – Jay Leno in the Beau Rivage Theatre
Acclaimed late night TV host, admired stand-up comedian and pioneer car builder and mechanic Jay Leno brings laughter and his love of classic cars to Beau Rivage Theatre at 8 p.m.
Leno currently produces and is host of the CNBC primetime series “Jay Leno’s Garage.” The show explores the world of cars, never forgetting that it’s the people behind the wheel who provide the real stories. When he’s not on TV, Leno performs more than 100 stand-up shows annually across the country and internationally. In his spare time, he enjoys working on his collection of classic cars and motorcycles. He has built several cars, including an eco-car in his eco-friendly green garage.
Tickets for Jay Leno’s performance are $49.50, $59.50, $75 and $95 plus tax and service fee.

Wednesday, 5 October – Saturday, 8 October – Afterparty with Triggerproof in EIGHT75
Each night, head to EIGHT75 for the afterparty featuring Triggerproof – a cover band with style that puts pop, rock and hip-hop through the musical blender to recreate both popular and classic radio-friendly hits.

Throughout the week of Cruisin’ the Coast, Beau Rivage will offer dedicated cruiser parking and cruisers can enjoy an $8 specialty cocktail menu at Black Clover Lounge, BetMGM Book Bar & Grill and EIGHT75.
