2016 Four Winds Invitational announces volunteer opportunities9 May 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casinos are seeking 220 volunteers for the 2016 Four Winds Invitational. Volunteers are needed for morning, afternoon and evening shifts for all three days of the tournament, which will take place from Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19 at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend. The Four Winds Invitational is part of the Symetra Tour — Road to the LPGA. Volunteers are needed to fill the following roles: caddies, cart and shuttle drivers, driving range assistants, food and beverage servers, marshals, spotters, scorers and standard bearers. Volunteers are also needed for the Four Winds Invitational 5k race on Sunday morning, June 19. All selected volunteers must be at least 16 years of age prior to June 1. They are required to pay a $25 fee by June 1, and will receive a tournament polo shirt, hat and one round of golf at Blackthorn Golf Club. Food and beverages will also be provided to volunteers on each day of service. Volunteers must attend a training session and complete nine total hours of service before receiving their free round of golf. The Four Winds Invitational was established in 2012 as part of the Symetra Tour — Road to the LPGA, and is sponsored by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casinos. It is held at Blackthorn Golf Club, located at 6100 Nimtz Parkway, South Bend, Ind. The tournament features a field of professional women golfers from around the world.
