$24,200 raised by North Star Mohican Casino's golf outing26 August 2019(PRESS RELEASE) -- North Star Mohican Casino Resort’s 21st annual golf outing raised $24,200 benefiting the Wolf River Habitat for Humanity and its vision to build strength, stability and self-reliance for families in Shawano and Menominee counties. This year’s event took place at Pine Hills Golf Course in Gresham, Wisconsin, on Thursday, 15 August 2019. North Star Mohican Casino Resort’s General Manager, Michael Bonakdar said, “At North Star Mohican Casino Resort, we operate through the personification of our core values: fun, integrity, respect, service, and teamwork. We believe that Wolf River Habitat for Humanity embodies F.I.R.S.T and we are proud to be able to work with them to aid partner families in obtaining simple, decent, affordable housing”. Local fundraising events are the only financial support that Wolf River Habitat obtains, as it does not receive any monies from the national organization. This year’s event with the help of North Star Mohican Casino Resort team members, Habitat For Humanity volunteers and numerous companies donating raised approximately $25,000. “Wolf River Habitat is overwhelmed by the generosity and unwavering support we have received from the Mohican North Star Casino and the Mohican Nation. The generosity of the casino and vendors at the golf outing is an extraordinary boost to our efforts to build affordable housing in Shawano and Menominee counties. This year's golf outing donations are over double of any of the previous 21 years-we are exceedingly grateful and thankful for partnership!” said Kevin Culhane, President, Board of Directors of Wolf River Habitat for Humanity. |
