$1.52 Million Up for Grabs in Bumper Poker Game

9 June 2000

LONDON-June 9, 2000 - As reported by Reuters: "What is being billed as the world's biggest poker tournament will net the lucky winner $1.52 million-tax free.

"This is not a case of 'Who wants to be a millionaire?' but 'Who is going to be a millionaire?"' said Barry Hearn, chairman of Britain's Matchroom Sport, which is organizing the event with Ladbroke Casinos.

"…American-style poker-"Texas Hold'em"-is the game of choice for the event launched in London on Thursday. Organizers are ready to accept entries from around the globe for the 300 seats at the tables.

"After elimination rounds in various countries, the cunning few will pit their wits in the Poker Million Final at the Ladbroke Casino on the Isle of Man in November.

"The payout for second prize has yet to be determined…."
