Guaranteed Profits on Sporting Events

Want to know how to make a profit on almost every sporting event--even before a ball has been thrown/struck/whatever in anger?

I have discovered with most bookmakers that pence (or cents, francs, pfennigs, etc.) are rounded up. So if I make a bet of 1p at 6/4, I will actually make 3p when I should make 2.5p, effective odds being transformed from 6/4 to 2/1.

In most cases, this means that bets on a given event can be laid off with other bookmakers and a profit of an entire halfcent or cent is absolutely certain! At least with bookies that permit bets this small.

Yippee!

Does any practical means of exploiting this exist? You could sit all day at your computer making penny wagers, but I doubt this would provide a worthwhile return on investment. You can purchase robot software that will do this sort of thing for you, but that might well set off a sportsbook's alarm bells.

On the other hand, money is money. Period. Wherever possible you want to bet awkward amounts to get that extra cent. Why bother? Here is why.

A few dollars a year isn't just a few dollars a year. It means you have a slightly larger bank to bet with at each and every stage, you get a kind of "compound interest" effect that, if you make many wagers and take your handicapping seriously, can eventually amount to thousands of dollars. For many, that might make the difference between success and failure.
