Hollwood Casino's New Web Site Makes Everyone a VIP16 January 2001
Want to know what it feels like to get the casino VIP treatment in the comfort of your own home? Check out Hollywood Casino Aurora's brand new Web site at www.hollywoodcasinoaurora.com and you'll find out! This revolutionary site is guaranteed to give you a trip on the information superhighway like none you've ever before experienced with a casino. Unlike other Web sites, which offer generic information tours of the facilities and a description of the games, dining options, and other amenities, Hollywood's is personalized for each and every player, starting with greeting you by name. And instead of just providing general information, you have the ability to access your individual player club data, scan the perks that are available to you, and secure them on the spot with no points deducted from your account! With plans to update the site on a regular basis with new information and "surprise" complimentaries, this new adventure in interactive cyberspace will be something you'll want to visit often. It was designed for the casino to be of service to the players and not the other way around. Other casino destinations, both locally and nationally, provide similar personal treatment on property, but Hollywood Casino Aurora is the first to offer it via the internet. This innovative approach to player development is the pride and joy of Hollywood's director of marketing, Alan Rosenzweig. He combined his marketing skills with the engineering and design talents of Interactive Sites out of Scottsdale, Arizona to develop the site. "It is an understatement to say I'm quite proud and very excited about the debut of www.hollywoodcasinoaurora.com," Rosenzweig said. "It is my hope that our customers, both old and new, will share the enthusiasm all of the 'cast members' at Hollywood Casino Aurora have for this project, which was four months in the making. "I invite everyone to see for themselves what I'm talking about. The site is very user friendly and easy to navigate. The first thing you'll notice is that there's no standard 'home page'. The first screen is a 'welcome page' which invites you to log on as a member of our player's club, as a guest, or 'just visiting'. From there you go on an interactive tour that has much to offer." Once you log on, the navigation box contains "click on" categories that'll give you a description of the property, gaming options, restaurants, and local attractions that include hyperlinks to the Aurora Area Convention & Tourism Bureau, Walter Payton's Roundhouse complex, the historic Paramount Arts Centre, and the nearby Comfort Suites. There is also a box to click on to give your review of the site or your comments, good and bad, about your Hollywood experience. You may direct your e-mail to any one of 10 departments within the casino, including the office of the casino's personable and "hands on" executive vice-president and general manager, Patt Medchill. At the top of the vertical navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen, a picture of a gremlin will pop up to invite you to check out Hollywood Casino's new link barge, which connects City of Lights I with City of Lights II and gives the property the feeling of a land-based casino. There's also a new promotions booth, coin redemption cashier, and very soon, the new link barge lounge. The top of the welcome page allows you to click on "entertainment specials". Not only does this give a rundown on what's happening, the page is personally customized for each member to obtain discounts, complimentaries, and show tickets based on the the level of play. If you choose to take advantage of an offer, you can do so on the screen. The best news is that points will not be deducted from your account. You may also click on "star points member information". This page will display your name, account number, and the amount of "star points" you have earned up to date. This page will also give you a choice of three e-mail preferences: You may choose (1) to have everything e-mailed to you, including cash bonus coupons, (2) to have invitations, comp offers, and information e-mailed to you, or (3) only news and notes e-mailed to you. It's strictly up to each individual. Having cash back coupons e-mailed is particularly intriguing. No more waiting for the "snail mail". Last but not least, there's a form to fill out to become a "Screen Test" player's club member. An account will be set up for you and you can pick up your player's club card the next time you visit the casino. From there, your level of play will be rated and the perks to which you are entitled made available on your home computer. This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network. Melissa A.
